Closure of AGM’s publishing operations in New Zealand

AGM’s publishing operations in New Zealand, including Architecture NZ magazine, ArchitectureNow and the Interior Awards, will be closing on 31 May, 2026 as part of a broader strategic shift by its owner, Hubexo.

AGM has long played a role in supporting and showcasing New Zealand’s architecture and design community through its publications, digital platforms and industry initiatives. Over many years, it has contributed to sharing projects, perspectives and conversations across the built environment sector.

In May 2026, Architecture NZ magazine, ArchitectureNow and the Interior Awards will all close, with the May/June 2026 issue of Architecture NZ to be the final issue after close to 40 years of publication.

The following memorandum from Hubexo provides further detail on the decision and key information.

Closure of AGM operations in New Zealand

Hubexo has made the decision to close its AGM publishing operations in New Zealand. These operations will conclude on 31 May 2026.

This includes Architecture NZ magazine, the ArchitectureNow website and the Interior Awards.

This decision forms part of a broader strategic shift to focus our investment and capability on Hubexo’s core software and data solutions for the construction industry.

We recognise that AGM’s publishing platforms, initiatives and people have played a long-standing and valued role within the New Zealand architecture and design community. Through its magazine, digital platforms and awards programme, AGM has contributed to showcasing work, connecting industry participants and supporting professional dialogue across the sector.

We understand that this news will be significant for many of our stakeholders, including partners, clients, sponsors, judges, entrants, contributors and suppliers. We are genuinely grateful to all those who have contributed to and supported AGM over the years.

With the closure of AGM, all associated activities, including the Interior Awards, will also conclude. This means the 2026 Interior Awards will not go ahead.

We are currently working through transition planning and will communicate directly with relevant stakeholders regarding any specific implications, including timing, commitments and next steps where applicable.

While AGM’s publishing operations are coming to a close, Hubexo remains committed to the New Zealand design and construction industry. We will continue to invest in and support the sector through our software, data and insight-led platforms, as well as broader industry engagement initiatives.

We are committed to managing this transition with transparency and professionalism, and with respect for the relationships and community that AGM has been part of.

For any questions or further information, please contact your Hubexo representative directly.
