Devarsh M Patel is an architectural designer based in Auckland. He holds a Master of Architecture (Professional) with Honours from the Auckland University of Technology. His master’s thesis, titled ‘Mapping the past, securing the future: developing a 3D scanning and virtual reality-based workflow for the conservation of at-risk heritage sites in Auckland, New Zealand’ focuses on architectural heritage conservation, investigating the use of virtual reality as a tool for the documentation, interpretation, and conservation of heritage environments. Devarsh’s work engages with the intersection of emerging digital technologies and built heritage, exploring how immersive media can support conservation practices, public engagement, and future heritage decision-making.
