Graeme McConchie is a senior lecturer at the Unitec School of Architecture. He was involved with others in writing the original Unitec BArch programme which commenced in 1994, and also its later translation into the current 3+2 BAS and MArch(Prof) programmes. Since, the outset, he has taught architectural history, and tutored in various design studios. Following the introduction of the post-graduate programme, Graeme has coordinated the final year; and supervised, to date, over 60 completed final-year Research Projects.
In the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquakes, Graeme constructed a post-graduate elective course in Building Conservation. He has also jointly authored, with colleague Christoph Schnoor, two recent publications with student assignment essays from an undergraduate elective on NZ Architecture: The Vertical Picturesque: Essays on Four Auckland Houses and Southern Modern: Six Houses by Ted McCoy.
