Linda Matthews is undertaking a PhD investigating urban design methodologies that utilize the optical logics of digital surveillance systems. The aim of her research is to understand how these systems frame and re-present the city, and to use these virtual spaces to generate architectural and urban form. Linda completed her Bachelor of Architecture Degree at UTS where she was awarded the University Medal; she was also awarded the Design Medal from the Australian Institute of Architects (NSW Chapter). She is also working part-time at the Sydney practice Carter Williamson.
