Born in Wellington in 1954, Brian Culy started work at the National Film Unit, then Vidcom Auckland, as a video tape editor. Brian then moved to Wellington to learn film editing and subsequently started his own post production company. He set up Airdate, a film production company in 1984, and semi-retired from the film industry in 2000 to follow his long time passion for photography. Brian set up Home Base Collections, an art home-ware company in 2008, with his wife Leanne.
