Landscape conservation design
At this event, three speakers will explore the nature of Australian and English landscapes, as well as the heritage issues and tools that are specific to working with and conserving historic landscapes.
The speakers will discuss case studies for a deeper understanding of place and significance. They will also compare landscape conservation in the UK to that in Australia to provide useful contrasts and stimulate ideas.
The speakers are as follows:
Stuart Read
Stuart Read will give an introduction to the Australian heritage system, including listings. He will also look at the relevance of the English system to Australia.
Charlotte McLean
Charlotte McLean will give an introduction to the English heritage system, including the presentation of relevant case studies.
Craig Burton
Craig Burton will look at Australian case studies.
Drinks start at 5.30 pm for a 6 pm start.
It costs $15 for AILA / AIA / AGHS members to attend, or $20 for non-members. University of New South Wales students can attend free of charge.
