Industry Briefing: Homestar in the Special Housing Areas
The Auckland Unitary Plan makes 6 Homestar rating mandatory for five or more homes in one development. Ordinarily the Unitary Plan doesn’t come into effect for a few years but for the Council’s Special Housing Areas (SHA’s) the plan applies to all homes in these areas. This means that the Homestar provision takes effect immediately.Discover what the implications of this are for your business.
The briefing will feature presentations from NZGBC and Auckland Council; and industry attendees will receive a comprehensive briefing on and have the opportunity to discuss:
- The Homestar requirement in the Unitary Plan and how it will affect the Special Housing Areas
- Homestar and how it works
- Examples and case studies of 6 Homestar homes (detached, attached, apartment)
- Information on the costs and benefits
- An overview of how the process will work – integration with Resource Consent & Building Consent processes
- Auckland Council Housing Project Office.
The Unitary plan and Special Housing Areas will have an enormous impact on the future of housing in New Zealand making this a must attend event for all involved in residential property developments.
Attendance is FREE for NZGBC members. Non-members $35 plus GST. Maximum of four attendees per organisation. To book your place, click here.
