Green buildings - what are the real costs and benefits?
International research has been synthesised and analysed to produce the Business Case for Green Building – an authoritative report that highlights the large number of compelling benefits green buildings bestow on different stakeholders throughout the life cycle of a building.
Keynote speakers include:
Jane Henley, CEO, World Green Building Council, who will cover the key findings of the report including: design and construction costs, asset value, operating costs, workplace productivity and health and risk mitigation.
Richard Palmer, associate director - Built Ecology, WSP, will challenge the viability of traditional life cycle cost and return on investment models when applied to the asset value of green buildings.
Alex Cutler, CEO, NZGBC, will give an update on green building issues in New Zealand, particularly the Auckland context.
The Business Case for Green Building will be held on Thursday 26 September from 5 - 7pm at the Aotea Centre in Auckland. Entry to the event is free for NZGBC members and $85 + GST for non-members. Following will be an opportunity to network over drinks & nibbles. Register your attendance here.
