FFWD016: Roger Walker
The University of Auckland School of Architecture and Planning’s annual guest lecture series, Fast Forward, aims to foster debate, discussion and development within the disciplines of architecture, urban planning and urban design. There will be ten events taking place from July to October 2016.

Roger Walker is one of New Zealand’s most prominent architects. He graduated with honours in 1967 from the University of Auckland. He started up on his own in 1971, became a Member of the NZIA in 1973 and a fellow in 1987. In 1999 he received an ONZM for Services to Architetcure. His work is extensive, well published and his practice has won many awards. He has appeared on television in two series of ‘The AA Torque Show’ and ‘Mitre 10 Dream Home’.
Roger has individually designed, led design teams and overseen the building of an extensive range of houses, townhouses, apartments, tourist, social and commercial projects throughout New Zealand. Having designed and built 150 stand-alone houses, 250 built medium density houses, 450 apartments, and various other types over a 45 year period, Walker has insight into making architecture accessible to the widest possible audience. In this talk he will share his lifelong passion for design and his roller coaster ride pushing boundaries.
All lectures start at 6.30pm, are free and open to the public.
