Discovering how the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) became a tourism and cultural icon transforming Hobart in just a few years is the subject of the Govett Brewster Art Gallery’s first event in its ArtPublic: Conversations Worth Spreading series of satellite talks.

Director of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery Simon Rees and visiting MONA curator Jarrod Rawlins will discuss how MONA, once considered a blot on the Tasmanian landscape, has become a darling of the people of Hobart and art-loving audiences all over the world.

ArtPublic: Conversations Worth Spreading is a series of satellite talks hosted by New Plymouth’s Govett-Brewster Art Gallery in New Zealand’s main centres, two to three times per year.
