FESTA 2018

This celebration of urban creativity and transitional architecture returns to Christchurch from 19 to 22 October 2018.
FESTA is a biennal, weekend-long festival that aims to bring life to central Christchurch through a headline event along with live events, installations, workshops and more throughout the weekend. This year’s theme is ‘Food and the City’ and will be centred around the main event, ‘FEASTA,’ which will celebrate and reinvent ancient traditions regarding gathering for food.
The 2016 event attracted more than 16,000 visitors to Christchurch from Canterbury and beyond. This year, FESTA invites people to gather en mass to explore the role of food in the city and to partake in a feast surrounded by installations in the largest occupation of public spaces in the city to date. The weekend is sure to involve large-scale projects, activities, discussions and, of course, eating.
