Bungalow Festival 2015
To launch the 2015 Albert-Eden Bungalow Festival, on the 24 September there will be a celebration of the bungalow with a tribute slideshow evening titled From Heritage to Contemporary - a Slide Show Snapshot of our Architectural Heritage. The evening will be curated by Nicole Stock, editor of the publication Bungalow: From Heritage to Contemporary.
Some exceptional speakers will share their images and insights on bungalows, heritage, architecture and design, including Graeme Burgess, Patrick Reynolds, Jeremy Salmond, Megan Edwards, Tony Van Raat, Jade Kake and Jacqueline Fahey. Each presentation will be around 10 – 15 minutes, to ensure an engaging and entertaining evening for all.
When: Thursday 24th September. 7pm arrival, for a 7:30 – 9.30pm event.

Another exciting part to the 2015 Bungalow Festival is the open home guided tour. Join Nicole Stock, editor of the publication Bungalow: From Heritage to Contemporary, on a tour of bungalows, both heritage and renovated, including The Faville-Brooker Family house in Point Chevalier and Maidment McVinnie house in Mt Eden designed by architect Megan Edwards. Included also will be Truro Street house in Balmoral designed by architect Roberta Johnston, and Grey Lynn Bungalow designed by Malcolm Walker.
This will be a unique opportunity to visit renovated bungalows. This two hour tour will appeal to those with an interest in the renovation process and deliver a taste of what a renovated bungalow can be.
When: Saturday, 26 September. 1pm-3pm.
Where: meeting point at NOMAD Restaurant, 5 Point Chevalier Road (opposite the Point Chevalier library) NB: a minivan will transport attendees to each open home.

As part of the festival, there will also be a guided walking tour of Balmoral, highlighting Balmorals most pristine bungalow streets, with heritage expert Rebecca Fogel.
