Source Photographic Exhibition
Auckland Festival of Photography 2013 – SOURCE by Mareea Vegas, Leon Rose, Ian McRae and Laura Forest.
As part of the 2013 Auckland Festival of Photography and Festival Tuesday Circuit, photographers and friends Mareea Vegas, Leon Rose, Ian McRae and Laura Forest will present a collaborative exhibition, SOURCE, at Silver Project Room (Whitespace), Ponsonby on 4 June.
Described as “an aesthetically delicious and contemporary show of fine art photographs”, SOURCE will explore themes around light, landscape and perspective.
“I’ve known Leon and Ian through the music slash art scene since the late nineties. Smoky band practices and guerilla style underground exhibitions; we were all there with 35mm’s. Laura and I met recently; her exhibition in last year’s festival inspired me so much I looked for an opportunity to create with her,” says Vegas.
“We are artists who are working collaboratively to create a luscious exhibition which amalgamates our individual love of photography with our continued need to express beauty.”
