Phoenix Rising from Vincent Ward’s film What Dreams May Come.
Visionary image-maker Vincent Ward will have two simultaneous exhibitions in Auckland this July, Inhale | Exhale.
Inhale features Ward’s cinematic installations and opens at the Gus Fisher Gallery at The University of Auckland. The Pah Homestead at the TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre will showcase Exhale, a collection of physically imposing photographic, print and painted works.
Ward’s work often focuses on the body in precarious situations (submerged, floating, flying, falling) or transformational moments, which evoke a heightened sense of existence and human vulnerability.
