Wood Smart - All About Here and Now

The Wood Council of New Zealand, through its promotional arm NZ Wood, has co-ordinated a who’s who of New Zealand timber technology experts to bring the first Wood Smart Construction Series: Commercial Sector (Wood Smart) to Christchurch on 10 April 2013.

Wood Smart will provide property owners, asset manager engineers, architects and quantity surveyors with the knowledge they need to confidently seek a wood first outcome for their commercial buildings.

The seminar will address concerns that timber technology, especially post tensioned multi-storey timber buildings and large clear span portals, is either ‘too new’ or simply ‘not possible’.

Wood Smart will provide attendees with practical information about product innovation, building system innovation and detailed reviews of buildings that utilise post and beam, post tensioned timber and engineered timber shear walls.
