Western Sydney’s first five-star hotel
Partner Content: A new $110 million precinct in Penrith comprises five-star hotel the Pullman Sydney Penrith, two top-tier hospitality establishments and the Western Sydney Conference Centre, a 1000-seat venue spanning 1250 square metres.
Turner Studio, the creatives behind the interiors, referenced heritage architecture for the design. Notably, Marcel Bar and Bistro pay homage to the Torin Building by Marcel Breuer and Harry Seidler from 1975-76. Breuer’s iconic Cesco chairs grace the space, while a modern aesthetic using subdued primary colours pays tribute to the Modernist and Bauhaus context.
Outside, the landscape architecture was informed by the local First Nations community, with 8,000 native plants surrounding the building, connecting with the Nepean River and the Blue Mountains.
Turner Studio’s commitment to local design extends to the use of GH Commercial’s bespoke carpets, where they have created original designs using GH Commercial’s Oceania inspired-collection. The Oceanic Collection Designer Jet® sheet product — Pearlsa, inspired by the reefs of the Tasman and Coral Seas, adorns each guestroom and seamlessly extends into corridors.
Elsewhere, the Pullman Penrith’s dining areas showcase custom Designer Jet® carpets, each designed to harmonise with the individual character of the space, from vibrant red carpets anchoring larger dining spaces to tartan-inspired designs.
In the foyer, custom woven carpets by GH Commercial in calming colourways were curated by the in-house design team to harmonise with the interior finishes.
“GH Commercial takes pride in supporting this exceptional project, contributing 150 years of local manufacturing experience. It’s a testament to the commitment to excellence in design and local heritage, making the precinct a true reflection of Western Sydney’s cultural richness and modern sophistication.”
