Twelve projects received awards at the 2024 Otago Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ) Resene Architectural Design Awards on Friday 30 August at a ceremony in Cromwell.

Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ) CEO, Keryn Davis, said with so many incredible winners it was a fantastic night celebrating the best of the best.

“The Otago region captivated our judges. All these designs represent the epitome of good design. These designers are applying passive design housing ideas and creating homes that are so beautiful, and so inviting, while also being incredibly functional and efficient. This is the future of design.”

Some standout designs for the ADNZ judges include: Tall Tree House by Carolin Friese of CF Architecture (picking up four Regional Awards) and The Cove also by Caolin Friese, where the interior finishes were inspired by moody alpine cabins; The Rātā, by Charlotte Muschamp of Alki Design, an innovative one-bedroom cabin; and Rocky Ridge, by Mitchell Coll of Fabric, which features concrete block and timber claddings to blend into its natural surroundings.
