Following on from the 2020 Nohonga Design Challenge, Brick Bay, Britomart, Resene, and the Auckland Branch of the Tuia Pito Ora New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects, are challenging landscape architects to come up with creative seating ideas for round two of the competition.

Designers are invited to respond to a theme of climate resilience, with winning teams given the opportunity to build their designs and see them exhibited in Britomart’s Takutai Square and on the Brick Bay Sculpture Trail.  See some of the successful 2020 designs in the video and hear from Richard Didsbury and Rachel de Lambert about the thinking behind the competition and the importance of finding interstitial spaces for the public to enjoy in our densifying cities.

Pre-registration is due by the 28th of February and submissions are due by the 28th of April. Entries welcome from landscape architectural students and graduated landscape architects, find the competition guidelines and entry form here.
