Michael Leng joins Warren and Mahoney Auckland
Established interior designer Michael Leng joins Warren and Mahoney’s design team on 13 June as Senior Associate at their Auckland studio.
Leng comes to Warren and Mahoney from Wingate Architects, where he was Associate Senior Interior Designer and commercial projects lead. His interior design portofilio showcases a wealth of experience in the design industry, with both locally and internationally recognised projects.
Warren and Mahoney Principal and Auckland Co-Head of Design, Scott Compton, says he is looking forward to having Leng join the practice’s design team. “We’re delighted to bring Michael on board to expand our highly capable team of designers. Michael is passionate about design and an avid supporter of the wider industry.”
Leng describes his new role as an opportunity for growth and says he is looking forward to the challenges working for a practice like Warren and Mahoney present. “I am keen to instill confidence and growth in our design teams and ensure that there are good mechanisms in place to nurture our future talent,” says Leng.
When reflecting on his own work, Leng says that his core inspiration for new projects is people. “I’m fascinated by people, their backgrounds, stories, our design community and how functionality and collaborating with other creatives can play a vital role in the way we approach design.”
Leng is currently the New Zealand Young Leaders Chair at CoreNet Global, a network that drives the practice of corporate real estate through professional development. He was also a judge for the 2021 Spatial Best Awards and is a proud advocate for DINZ.
