Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa, Healthcare and Wellness Award winner 2024.

Sarah Collins: The thoughtful design of Wai Ariki Spa pays homage to the natural and cultural richness of the Rotorua region. I love how it draws deeply on the materials, scents, and textures of the local environment—elements that play a central role in creating an immersive atmosphere and reinforcing a profound connection to place. From geothermal steam drifting over stone pathways to warm timber tones and earth-inspired textures throughout, every detail has been carefully selected to reflect the essence of the land. These inspiring design choices not only evoke a deep sense of serenity while also honouring the natural resources.

We were proud to contribute to this incredible project, not just with tiles but also with striking custom mosaic pieces. The bespoke mural of Tongariro is a stunning feature piece and also a true testament to the craftsmanship and ability of our supplier Bisazza. I can’t wait to visit this beautiful space in person, a spa day is definitely on the cards!

Marisfrolg Fashion’s Exhibition Gallery, Supreme and Retail Award winner 2024.

Romar Santiago: What I appreciate about the Marisfrolg Exhibition Gallery is how its architecture and interior design work together to express the brand’s identity. The use of materials like brick and stone in varying colours and tones adds depth without being loud. These surfaces create a quiet visual rhythm that feels both natural and carefully composed. The arches and curved transitions between spaces guide movement gently, giving the space a sense of flow similar to how fabric drapes and moves in Marisfrolg’s garments. Inside, the subtle layering of textures—rough brick, smooth stone, soft lighting—creates a calm, tactile environment. To me, the space perfectly embodies the Art into Life campaign, turning the refined aesthetics of fashion into an architectural and sensory experience.

Bremworth Experience Store, Retail Finalist 2024

Jack Sun:  Izzard’s Bremworth Experience Store stood out to me because of the clever approach to materiality. The minimalistic yet inviting design created a warm, welcoming feel to the space. The tactile dimension adds another layer of sophistication and showcases the softness of wool.  The layout and the displays created room for customers to explore and interact with the products creating a more engaging experience. With all the elements and design considerations, Bremworth Experience Store showcases what retail experience can become.
