This year, the Interior Awards programme sees Laminex back in its second year as a sponsor. We talk to Laminex Specification Business Partners, Nicola Mason, Kathie Valentine and Kim Moynagh, about sustainability, the future and what you might not know about their business.

What is your company doing to help specifiers and designers reach their clients’ sustainability goals?

Nicola: Laminex understands the importance of having the right certifications to support sustainability targets and requirements through product specification. We make it easy for specifiers and designers to find the sustainability credentials of a Laminex product through our dedicated ‘Trade & Specifier Resources’ section on the Laminex website.

We’re also working on Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for transparency of product carbon footprints and are expanding the offerings of products with certifications that support sustainability. We’re always open to collaborating with clients to help achieve goals and targets.

What future trends, from your market segment, do you see on the horizon for the architecture and design industry?

Kathie: Organic and natural colours that mimic the environment will continue to have a strong influence on design trends but I’m also seeing designs with a mid-century modern influence — clean lines, beautiful simplicity yet functional and rich in colour.

If there was one thing you would like the industry to know about your company, what would that be?

Kim: At Laminex, we’re focused on serving specifier needs through our website, documentation and personnel. We have a dedicated specification and technical team nationwide to support the A&D industry. Sustainability is a pillar of our business, so we’re focused on investing in developing and sourcing the right products and tools to support sustainable design.
