Meet Big River Panels – sponsors of the 2026 Interior Awards
Big River Panels have supported the Interior Awards for nine years, first partnering with the programme in 2017. Big River Panels (formally Décortech) are the market leaders in decorative, acoustic and fire-resistant wall and ceiling panels. We spoke to the team about industry changes, inspiration and being a valued partner to the industry.
The Interior Awards programme began in 2011. What would you say is one of the biggest changes you’ve seen in the industry over the past 15 years?
Leroy Faavesi: One of the biggest shifts has been the growing focus on sustainably and ethically sourced products. Designers are paying closer attention to where materials come from and their environmental credentials. Sustainability is now expected, not optional. This has also encouraged studios to reduce sample libraries, ordering samples per project to cut waste and make more thoughtful, intentional choices.
What really inspires you?
Emmett King: I’m inspired by people and the way creative ideas become buildable, high-performing interior spaces. Innovation often comes from working within real constraints – budget, compliance, sustainability and constructability – to find smart, practical solutions. Collaboration is key, and I’m especially motivated by specifying environmentally responsible materials that support strong design outcomes while reducing impact and improving long-term performance.
What makes Big River Panels a valuable partner to the industry?
Lacie Dufty and Kelly Morris: At Big River Panels, we’re more than a product supplier – we’re a partner from concept to completion. We combine strong technical know-how with practical, on-the-ground support so architects, designers and builders can specify with confidence. With responsibly sourced, well-tested products across interiors, exteriors, acoustics and structural panels, we show up early, stay involved and help deliver better design outcomes every time.
