A family home in Palmerston North built by Stonewood Homes PN has been awarded the Supreme Award in the Manawatu-Wanganui Registered Master Builders 2014 House of the Year.

Stonewood Homes took out six regional awards, including a Gold Award and category win for the PlaceMakers New Homes $350,000 - $450,000, as well as the Manawatu-Wanganui Registered Master Builders Supreme Award for the 2014 House of the Year.

The company also received a Gold Award, category win and the Craftsmanship Award for a home in Fielding entered into the James Hardie New Homes $450,000 - $600,000 category.

Stonewood Homes’ Supreme Award winning build impressed judges who said, “This home was built with a great deal of love and care. A fantastic family home, the quality of the build and attention to detail throughout is something to be proud of.

“Designed to capture the sun and featuring functional, easy-living spaces, this is a home that a typical New Zealand family would be delighted to own.”

The results were announced at a gala dinner on Friday, 25 July at Awapuni Racecourse in Palmerston North. The event was attended by members of the local building industry and the Manawatu-Wanganui Region Registered Master Builders.

There were 11 Gold Award winners from Manawatu-Wanganui which will now be assessed alongside Gold Award winners from across the country to find the National Gold Reserve finalists, to be announced in early September.

National category winners and the Registered Master Builders Supreme Awards for Renovation of the Year and House of the Year will be announced at a gala dinner in Auckland in November.

The Awards are made possible through the support of PlaceMakers, James Hardie, GIB, Nulook, Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, Future-Proof Building, Carters, ITM, Plumbing World, Resene, Westpac and Master Build Services.
