Innovative cloud platform simplifies life for architects
Partner content: New Kiwi-designed project management platform, Clarc, lets architects and engineers manage workflow to save time and money.
The brainchild of founder and architect Owen Xing, Clarc was born out of frustration when Owen was unable to find a platform that did the whole job for his own architecture business.
“There was simply nothing available that could handle the complex workflow of the construction industry’s professional consultants and deliver clarity, so I decided to create a purpose-built tool,” he says.
“I wanted a cloud-based platform that could house everything needed to manage the entire practice; something that would enhance collaboration and free people up to focus on what really matters: design, planning and workflow.”
Clarc includes the full suite of management tools used in the architecture industry including timesheets, project management, project collaboration and invoicing.
Key features of Clarc include:
- Simplified budget tracking, with automated invoicing through Xero
- Diary scheduling which syncs Google Calendar and Outlook directly to timesheets
- Easy project progress tracking, enabling assignment of individual tasks to team members
- Tight version control, always showing the latest version of a drawing
- Dedicated client portal for reviews, approval and contract signing
- Live chat to prompt decision making and keep projects moving.
Owen says: “When COVID-19 hit, I realised that a dedicated platform for our industry is crucial because it means that information is centralised, in real time, and accessible regardless where people are working.”
According to Owen, using Clarc in his own practice reaped immediate rewards: “I save at least an hour a day on administrative tasks. Budget blowouts are a thing of the past because we can see in real time how much budget is left against which tasks, how realistic that is, and make adjustments as necessary.”
Clarc is now used by several architectural consultancies nationwide. For more information, to book a demonstration, or a free trial, visit www.clarc.co.
