Fast Forward lecture series: Spring 2019
The University of Auckland School of Architecture and Planning’s Fast Forward Lecture Series has returned this spring with the theme Activism and Architecture. The series includes evening lectures as well as breakfast interviews with each of the four firms participating in the Making Ways exhibition, currently running at Objectspace gallery.
The Fast Forward lectures were conceived by the School of Architecture and Planning as public events that aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry and are given by prominent local and international experts each year. This year’s theme invites attendees to examine the role of architects as global citizens and their opportunity to tackle global issues such as climate change and social justice. Thus, the coincidence with Making Ways, curated by the University’s Kathy Waghorn, is fitting, as the exhibition seeks to put the spotlight on firms that are tackling architecture in non-traditional ways.
