Eat Drink Design Awards: shortlist revealed
Three Zealand projects have been included in the 2015 Eat Drink Design Awards shortlist, which was announced on 21 August.
The awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the design of hospitality venues of all scales and types, retail environments for the sale of food and beverages and visual identities for both. The awards recognize design achievement through six categories: Best Bar Design, Best Restaurant Design, Best Cafe Design, Best Temporary Design, Best Retail Design and Best Identity Design.
NOTT Architects was shortlisted in the Bar Design category for their Napier bar Monica Loves, while Parsonson Architects have been included in the Best Restaurant Design category for Loretta café in Wellington. Elsie Espresso, central Auckland, is the third New Zealand project to make the shortlist, coming in under the Best Cafe Design category.
In 2015, the awards received a record-breaking 176 entries across the six categories, of which the jury has selected a total of eighty-eight projects from across Australia and New Zealand.
Bringing together the expertise and experience of the design and hospitality communities, the judging panel for 2015 comprised restaurateur and chef Karen Martini, designers Pascale Gomes-McNabb and Stuart Krelle, Australian Financial Review design editor Stephen Todd, and Cameron Bruhn, editorial director of Architecture Media.
