Entries are now open for the 2012 Unbuilt Architecture Awards run by the Auckland Architecture Association (AAA) and Cavalier Bremworth.

The judging panel for this year’s awards competition includes Jack McKinney (McKinney + Windeatt Architects), Bill McKay (University of Auckland, School of Architecture and Planning) and international judge, Tim Greer, a Sydney-based New Zealander from award-winning practice, Tonkin Zulaikha.

Entries into the 2012 Unbuilt Architecture Awards are judged across two main categories:

Open - a general section for projects by professional architects.This section is divided into two secondary categories:

• Open-Conceptual, ‘whereby entries must deal with an aspect of the built environment and while not necessarily the result of an actual commission, they must be a solution to a design problem’.
• Work-in-Progress, ‘whereby entries must be real world projects with an identified site address, and an estimated build date and completion date’. 

Student - ‘whereby entries must deal with an aspect of the built environment and while not necessarily the result of an actual commission, they must be a solution to a design problem’.
