Call for Christchurch projects
The Emergence of Christchurch feature in Architecture NZ issue March/April 2012 remains the most-read article on ArchitectureNow with 19,000 page views (and our research was also published in The Press newspaper). Now, as building cranks up in Christchurch, some readers have been asking for the latest information on projects being built in the city, so, in the March/April 2014 issue of Architecture NZ, we will publish a new feature on the current status of the Christchurch Rebuild, and would greatly appreciate your input.
If you are working on projects anywhere in Christchurch, other than single residential, would you please send us the following information and materials by Wednesday 19 December 2013:
- Practice name
- Name of project
- Full address of project
- Status of project: whether completed, under construction or in development
- Completion date
- 40-word description about the project (can be bullet-points)
- An image of each project being built in Christchurch – no individual houses but do include multi-housing and apartment projects. To avoid confusion, caption each image with the project name
Ideally please upload your response and images to this Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pweczxrqs73pn6c/da23kZD4vG
Victoria University masters student Tavis Creswell-Wells is also researching the general architectural patterns of ‘central city’ commercial buildings – Urban Form for Passive Buildings and Density in the Christchurch Rebuild – and we will publish a summary of his findings in Architecture NZ. Any assistance provided to Tavis would be much appreciated. I’m certain his findings will be of particular value to those of you who are building in the CBD.
If you have other research, information or thoughts that may be of interest to the Christchurch feature more generally, contact Justine Harvey.
Deadline for all materials is Wednesday 19 December 2013.
