Applications now open for the Keystone Trust Study Awards
Secondary school students considering a career in architecture, urban planning, construction, engineering, property, surveying or quantity surveying can apply for a Keystone Trust Study Award, valued at $5000 a year.
For the past 26 years, the Keystone Trust has been offering scholarships to students with financial and circumstantial need to undertake tertiary study in property and construction-related programmes.
The Award includes a scholarship of $5000 a year for up to three years, plus mentoring and networking opportunities, introductions to industry sponsors, workshops, site visits and internships.
Massey High School and Keystone Trust alumnae 2014, Renee Wootton, is now a graduate engineer with WSP in Queenstown. Wootton says she applied for a Keystone Study Award as she needed financial assistance to attend university. “The Award also mentioned mentoring and support, which I thought would be cool,” says Wootton, “but it turned out to be the most valuable thing about Keystone Trust. Their willingness to help, mentor or just catch up for a quick coffee is amazing. The effort that goes into creating a supportive environment is invaluable.”
Keystone Trust also offers nine Keystone Partnership Scholarships for those students already studying at tertiary level in a property/construction-related course. Information about each scholarship and how to apply is available at www.keystonetrust.org.nz.
Applications close on 14 August.
