Entries are now open for the annual Eat-Drink-Design Awards. The awards celebrate the best hospitality design from Australia and New Zealand, and acknowledges the unique collaborations between client and designer that make for great social venues.

In 2014 there were over 150 entries over six categories, testament to the design excellence and innovation being applied to the Australian and New Zealand hospitality industries.

Award categories for 2015 are Best Bar Design, Best Restaurant Design, Best Cafe Design, Best Temporary Design, Best Retail Design and Best Identity Design.

The 2014 Hall of Fame – an award given each year to an establishment of enduring cultural and design value – was won by Meyers Place by Six Degrees. Meyers Place one of the first bars opened in the laneways of Melbourne when liquor licensing laws changed in the mid-1990s.

On the 2015 jury are Karen Martini (chef and restaurateur), Pascale Gomes-McNabb (architect at Pascale Gomes-McNabb Design), Stephen Todd (design editor at Australian Financial Review), Stuart Krelle (interior designer at Luchetti Krelle) and Cameron Bruhn (editorial director at Architecture Media).

Projects must be for individual eating and drinking spaces, or their related visual identities, and must have been completed between 1 January 2014 and 30 June 2015 (and not entered last year).

The 2015 Eat-Drink-Design-Awards will be announced at a unique, themed event in Melbourne during November, and ticket sales for the awards presentation evening will open in September.

All awarded and commended projects will receive a certificate and the use of the Eat-Drink-Design logo for printed and promotional materials (on request), and each category winner will receive a $1,500 cash prize.
